There are moments when the world feels more vivid. You stop thinking about where you’ve been or where you’re going, and you are simply here. Now.

We went looking for these sensations and found them in the Basque Country. Facing a sea that means Ocean, leaving you with nothing but the present. The pieces from Escapista’s second Drop are born from this: essential, with meaningful details that tell a story, designed for refined travellers.

Joining us on this journey is Mario Milana, the face of this drop. A Milan-based designer, he has practised meditation for years and brings it into the gestures of everyday life. Mario Milana’s furniture plays with dynamism and movement, and is made by artisans using honest materials.

He is the co-founder of Casa Milana, alongside his wife Gabriella Campagna. We chose him because he didn’t need to interpret anything. He already lives this way.
